PSCA Membership FAQ
Professional
Membership in PSCA is open to those
individuals who hold a Pennsylvania certificate
as either an elementary or secondary counselor or
a supervisor of guidance services. To be a
professional member, one must also be employed as
a school counselor or supervisor of counselors.
Dues are $55 and permit the person to vote on
Association business and to hold office.
Regular Membership
is the same as Professional Membership except the
person need not be employed in school counseling.
The dues are also $55 but the individual may not
hold office in the Association.
Associate
Membership is open to individuals who do not
hold a certificate to practice as a school
counselor and must be approved by the Membership
Committee. Dues are also $55 but the individual
may not vote or hold office.
Student
Membership is open to those individuals who
are enrolled at least half time in a graduate
preparation program for school counseling. Dues
are set at $25 and the signature of a faculty
advisor is required.
Retired membership
is open to persons who have held professional membership for the
two years immediately preceding retirement. A retired member
shall maintain all the privileges of Professional
Membership. Dues are set at $25.
