Welcome Professional
School Counselors!
Welcome to the Pennsylvania School
Counselors Association’s web site. The mission of
PSCA is to expand the
image and influence of professional school counselors, to
promote professional and ethical practice, and to advocate
for equity and access for all students.
If you are a PSCA member, I’d like to congratulate
you for your professionalism. Professionals see themselves
as part of a community of like minded individuals who
maintain their skills, keep abreast of research and engage
in ongoing professional development. If you are not a
member, please consider joining our professional
organization.
There are numerous opportunities for you to get
involved; consider sharing your expertise and experience
with other school counselors. Take advantage of the
elementary and secondary list-serves to expand your network.
Contact a PIN (Professional Interest Network) for answers on
issues such as Crisis Response, Accountability and Data, or
504 Service Agreements. Search for lessons plans in the
members’ only section.
To help you maintain a high level of competency in
our evolving field, PSCA provides many professional
development opportunities: regional workshops, IU
in-services and presentations, the two day
Summer Academy intensive training on timely topics, the
Western Region Conference, and the annual conference,
School Counselors: Building Today for Tomorrow, on May 20-22, 2010
in Lancaster.
PSCA strives to meet your needs and that of the
profession. Please let us know how we can support you in
strengthening your comprehensive counseling program.
Best wishes.
